What a handsome man! Great picture! I thought you'd be interested to know 3 flocks of geese flew over my house last night just a squawking. Did you win the card game? I bet you did. You always beat me. Love Aunt Angela

Daniel, That old saying "Nothing can keep a good man down" was certainly meant for you!! It sounds like you are a lean, mean fighting machine too. It is so good to hear all the good news. You sure have a lot of people who love you! The Madge's are running crazy like normal. Luke and Rachel both played fall ball for the first time. They loved it! Luke can fly around those bases. Taylor is gearing up to cheer for basketball of course football is finished so Austin is getting ready to go out for basketball again. I hope the season is better than last year. Well, we'll be in touch. You give your Mama a big hug. See you soon!! Love,
The family of Zoots

Hey Daniel,

We go to church with the Barker family. We've met Gatlin when Wade has brought him to church. We are so excited about your blog and being able to say Hi to you. We've said a lot of prayers for you. Hope you are getting stronger every day and beating your mom at cards. :-)

Love,
Stephanie Matschinegg, Hannah Formosa, & Karyn Thompson (Bryson & Kailey's mom - remember them at Nana's??)

Hey Daniel,
Anybody beat you up today?... I didn't think so... That's great, cause I want to be the first. I'm sure those nurses wish somebody would come up there and rough you up a little... I've got a whole house full of people that want to beat you up. (Gwen, Wade, Libby, Lanie, Bret... well, maybe not Bret, but the rest of them are itching to get at you!)
There are a lot of people praying for you... I wish you didn't have to go thru all this stuff, but you are blessed with:
1) a Mom, Dad, and brother that love you
2) a whole bunch of friends that love you
3) most of all, a God that loves you

Keep walking as much as you can, and eat everything you can get your hands on... we look forward to seeing you real soon!

Give your Mom a big hug from all of us, and tell her what a great Mom she is...

See ya soon!

Hey Dan Man!!!
I just talked to your Mom and she told me about Shotgun going to Graceland. I have told everyone and we have laughed and laughed. I wish somebody would tell me I need to eat more!!!
Jack and Joe said to tell you that they can't wait for you to get home. We have been house sitting for Mr. Jim this week and his has a giant woodpecker that starts pecking on the house very early each morning. I guess I will have to hire Gatlin and Joe to take care of that for me - if you know what I mean :)
I love you ssssssssooooooo much and I have missed all your hugs and smiles!!!! Susan

Hey everybody, thank you for sending me the cards and posters. Aunt Kim and Mom hung them up in my room. All the nurses, RTs and PTs say I have the coolest room in the hospital. Aunt Kim bought really good Halloween candy and they like to come by for treats.
I have a 6 minute walk tomorrow to test my breathing endurance and my first trach change.
Keep me in your prayers.

Hey Dan the Man -
It's great to see your smiling face! John and I were cleaning out the garage last night and he found this duck/goose/owl/turkey calling thing. It was so fun to play with. I was trying to make all kinds of bird sounds. He was laughing because....I was suppose to be helping him clean the garage. I was...I really was...honest.
Lots of love and see you soon.
